The Midwestern Chinese Exclusion Database,
developed by Gene Moy in cooperation with the staff of the
National Archives and Records Administration Great Lakes Region,
contains
a complete
index of the approximately 7000 Chinese Exclusion files for
the upper midwest, allowing Chinese
Chicago
and Minneapolis/St.
Paul residents to access files collected by the Immigration
and Naturalization Service regarding our ancestors. These files
span a period roughly between the 1890s to the 1950s.
Online
access and an interpretation center
is planned
to roll
out shortly.
In the meantime, please contact us for more information about
this valuable asset.
